(couldnt upload it)

Plan: THORNLIEGH station to Berowa station. About 20k. Catch train back. Sweet.
Amazing how quickly you leave the suburbs behind as you wind down to the rivers. Pristine pools.
About 10k out, rolled the Damn left ankle. Not too bad. So kept on jogging. Trail wind's up to Hornsby then to Galston gorge. Only there passed some joggers, otherwise all very quiet.

A disturbing warning sign, first at Hornsby, again at Galston, again at Crosslands, saying the crossing north of Crosslands.a bit of deja vu, last time i'd seen this was another adventure, Chinque Terra, Italy, obviously ignored that as well...

So this became the main focal point of the journey. i mean a creek, how difficult can a creek be to cross. Creek's are small anyway. not much option, no way home from crosslands.

You criss cross the river, purpose built stepping stones making it easy for weary hikers.

Hugged the river for a while before breaking away, heading up and down again to Galston gorge. was able to make to time with jog walk regime.
Lunch at Crosslands and onto the ominous creek.

Yes bridge well an truly collapsed.Well this creek is a little bigger than anticipated. No real way up stream. No one around. So off with the kit, and not just the backpack. all secured in backpack. figuring should be able to wade across. Alas, it was deeper than anticipated. And backpack heavier, starting to sink. an extra arm needed along with furious eggbeater kick to keep backpack out of water. this was hilarious. Was surprised it was saltwater. No bull sharks visiting up this way I hoped. Happy to feel the other side under my feet.dont think too many walkers would be doing this in a hurry.

above pic from video commentary of said crossing.

All pretty uneventful after that. Ankle started to hurt, so arriving in Berowa, found a physio to strap it up.

That was a whole lot of fun.
